I hope I never forget tonight{except the part about Owen squeezing half a bottle of shampoo on his head/in his eyes and opening 20 feminine items and throwing many of them in the toilet}.
We walked to the park. Shouldn't be too big of a deal, but we live on the same street as the park and as a family we've only walked there a handful of times in the past year {sad :(}. I suppose I'm into lazy mothering. We have a yard. I figure the kids can go out there to play. That is after-all why we bought this house!
But, it rained today. In the desert. Real. rain.
We loved every minute of it. My kids couldn't be bothered with dinner, or bedtime. They just wanted to play in the puddles. I will forever remember Audrey trying to walk our unruly dog in one hand, while holding her umbrella in the other, looking back at me with that wide, infectious grin. Lincoln and Julia rode their scooters like wild-animals splashing through puddles. Owen was quiet {this never happens}. I love these kids. Really I do. Even though I convinced Bob that we should consider selling a couple of them to the circus {nothing is ever quite right for Audrey. She had the wrong blanket. The wrong pillow. I didn't tuck her in properly. Lincoln's room is a pigsty. In fact this week he's on trial to see if he gets to continue having a room. I'm perfectly fine with him sleeping on the couch and getting rid of all his personal belongings :)}. Julia has done nothing today but tell me I'm beautiful. The best mom ever. Even if she had another mom I would still be her favorite {no we are not participants in Sister Wives. Bob's a one wife man. He couldn't handle more than me. {Plus he already has his trophy wife- ha;)} She loves my hair. my dress. my shoes. my earrings. my stories. She scratched my back. Helped clean-up the house. Watched the baby. She's making it hard to not have a favorite.
I just checked on them one last time before retiring for the evening and I choose to forget all the bad. It's again decided, I don't have a favorite.
I want to only remember the puddles, the giggles, and the smell of the desert rain!
